Valentines Day

I know it's totally lame that I didn't even take pictures of this day! This day that signifies the beginning of our courtship two years ago.

It was on February 14, 2008 that a certain young woman was going to receive a very unexpected visitor. This young woman was sitting at her piano, running though her daily practice when out of the corner of her eye she spotted something. She stopped and realized that the something she saw was a familiar blue camry that belonged to a special young man driving up her driveway. Not even thinking about that this day was Valentines day, the young woman quickly checked herself in the mirror to make sure she looked fetching and resumed her practicing to pretend she did not notice the unexpected arrival. Moments later there was a strong knock at the door. Heart racing for reasons quite unknown at the moment, she opened the door to a handsome smiling nervous young man with a massive beautiful bouquet of flowers. Stunned and a bit unsure of what to do next, she quickly offered to have him come inside. So many thoughts were racing through her mind. "What were Dad and Mom going to say? Did he ask her dad before coming out here? What does this mean? Is he giving this to me because he interested or because we're interested?" All of those thoughts vanished in a moment as she read the sweetest card she'd ever received. All she wanted to do was to hug him, but because of rules, restrained herself and continuously thanked him over and over. Both were smiling and beaming more than ever as he stayed a while longer. Her mom came downstairs and reassured the young woman that all of this had been cleared by her father and was so happy for her. Her heart beating a thousand miles a minute, her feet floating as if on air, she knew that this was for real.

That's our first Valentine's story......as for yesterday, we packed a small picnic lunch and headed to the small town of Julian known for it's Apple Pie. We walked around the small western styled town, going into small shops, and stopped to buy a absolutely delicious apple pie from a bakery. It was a very happy and relaxing day.

I love my man so much and am so blessed he's mine. If ever there was an example of grace, it's God blessing me, an undeserving sinner, the blessing of my husband.

Happy Valentines Day!
