Here are photos I took during some of the festivities of Basel's Fasnacht

There are tons of these lanterns that are lit up and carried by each group of piccolo/drum players mocking current events, politicians, and world news all in the Basel German dialect. 

Crowds would gather around marching bands to listen. This group was amazing!

Many different masks and costumes too.

Children loved throwing the colored confetti.
