Zermatt, Switzerland to St. Moritz, Switzerland and the Glacier Express

As our Christmas present to each other, this trip well looked forward too. The plan was to head up to Zermatt, spend the night, take the 7 hour scenic Glacier Express train in which you slowly travel in a panorama car through the mountains, end in St. Moritz (another ski resort town), spend the night there, and head home. A whirlwind of a trip, but well worth it. We hoped on a train early one morning and made our way to Zermatt. Zermatt is a snug little ski resort town located at the base of the Matterhorn mountain. It was so beautiful and absolutely decimated in snow. So much so that people were transporting children on sleds!

Our hotel: Hotel Primavera.

We had amazing weather and pretty clear skies.

Icicles like these were pretty much hanging off every building here.

Since we arrived in the middle of the afternoon, we weren't able to take the cable car to the top of the Matterhorn, but had to settle with the halfway point. We still had great views from there.

We had a good rest and early the next morning we boarded the Glacier Express.
I apologize in advance for any glare you might notice on some of the photos. It was hard to not catch reflections of the windows.

By the time we arrived in St. Moritz it was dark outside. We ate dinner and headed to our hotel and the following pictures were taken as we walked around the next day.

There's a pretty big lake in St. Moritz but it's now covered in snow.

Pretty little town.

We had a great trip and were back just before Christmas. Hope you enjoyed the photos. :)

Great photos, you guys!!
Are most of the tall buildings in Zermatt & St. Moritz hotels or apartments?
I LOVE all the gorgeous snowy scenes! Makes me shiver just looking at all the chilly beauty!
